Rotary Seals
Swivel Seals
For sealing dynamic, rotary motion
Moving fluid or air under pressure between a stationary base and a rotating structure requires a hydraulic swivel or rotary manifold. These pressure swivels eliminate or reduce costly high–pressure hose assemblies and fit in a small footprint. We offer a wide range of rotary swivel seals where each seal has specific design features to enable it to perform exceptionally well in the application for which it was designed.
Our Swivel Seals are classified as follows:
– High Pressure Swivel Seals – up to 5,000psi* PV-Rating: 7.0 to 9.0
– Ultra-High Pressure Swivel Seals – up to 10,000psi* PV-Rating: 7.0 to 10.0
– Low Friction Swivel Seals – up to 5,000psi* PV-Rating: 7.0 to 9.0
High Pressure Swivel Seals – PV-Rating 7.0 to 9.0 -up to 5,000psi*
Typical Applications
Swivel joints, hose reels, hydraulic excavators, hydraulic cranes, log loaders, tree harvesters, machine tools, rotary tables, hydraulic fixture clamp feeds and others.
Pressure: up to 5,000psi (350bar)* and special designs up to 10,000psi (690bar) at low surface speeds for pressures exceeding 3,000psi (210bar), please contact engineering.
Temperature: -58 to 400°F (-50 to 200°C) depending on seal material
Surface speed: up to 400fpm (2m/s)* at lower pressure
PV-Rating: 7.0 to 9.0 depending on seal design and material Seals can not be operated at their upper pressure and speed ratings at the same time.
Materials: PTFE composite, elastomers and proprietary materials

*Maximum values depend on seal material, seal configuration, media, temperatures, pressures, surface speed, dynamic running surface finish and working environment. Data provided are guidelines for ideal operating conditions. Seals cannot be operated at their upper pressure and speed ratings at the same time. For maximum seal life expectancy, do not operate your seal beyond 75% of any of its operating limits. Please consult engineering or call 1-800-283-7140 for advice.
